The victory at Rally di Roma Capitale 2016 (held in the historic part of Rome, around the Square Colosseum and the Forum Romanum) was taken by Umberto Scandola (with co-driver Guido D'Amore) driving a Skoda Fabia R5. Giandomenico Basso, driving for BRC Racing Team, was third this time – enough to remain at the top of the season's general standings. However, he's only 0,75 points ahead of Paolo Andreucci. There was a lot of struggle during the entire rally, with Basso, Scandola and Andreucci fighting head to head from start to finish.
It was a good rally, driven at a high pace. Too bad we had a slight problem on Saturday. Without it I would have been much happier today, but most importantly we won crucial points and remain in the lead overall. The entire season has been great, but for me the real reason to be proud will be when I drive into Verona with number 1 on the side.

BRC Racing Team's other crew, Simone Campedelli and Danilo Fappani, in a Ford Fiesta R5 LPG, failed to repeat the impressive performances of previous rounds, but still managed to secure a respectable fourth place.
