The vehicle is powered by a Cummins Westport ISX12 G engine with 400 PS and maximum torque of 1,970 Nm.

Depending on individual needs, owners can choose between different capacities of fuel tanks. They can hold up an amount of gas with energy equivalent from 190 (for CNG) to 300 (for LNG) gallons of diesel oil (DGE – Diesel Gallon Equivalent), with a driving range of up to 800 miles, which is nearly 1,300 km.

The drive system includes transmission manufactured by either Allison or Eaton.

Freightliner also offers two other models powered by gaseous fuels: M2 112 NG and 114CD NG.

Freightliner’s involvement in green technologies is part of Daimler AG’s “Shaping Future Transportation” global policy.

Started in 2007, this initiative focuses on reducing emissions of exhaust and carbon dioxide, and using clean, efficient drive systems also powered by alternative fuels. Since 2008, Freightliner Trucks has sold more than 3,000 vehicles powered by natural gas.
