Since late August 2014, Thai customers can buy Honda City with an engine adapted to natural gas supply.
According to Honda Automobiles (Thailand), the gas system is installed at the factory. The car was adapted to the increased weight resulting from the installation of CNG supply system (especially the high-pressure cylinder) by strengthening its body and redesigning the front and rear suspension.
When running on petrol, the 4-cylinder 1.5 l engine has horsepower of 120 hp at 6000 rpm, with torque of 145 Nm reached at 4600 rpm. On gas these numbers are slightly lower – 102 hp with torque of 127 Nm.
Torque is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox or by CVT.
All versions of Honda City CNG are equipped with VSA system (Vehicle Stability Assist), emergency stop signal (ESS), hill start assist (HSA), two airbags, ABS and EBD.
Depending on the chosen version, Honda City CNG cars are offered at 612 to 711 thousand baht (14 to 16,5 thousand euros).
