In fact, this is not the first instance of Honda officially allowing their cars to run on LPG autogas. Civic sedans have been undergoing aftermarket conversions since 2011, but until now the petrol-to-LPG switchover process was taking place at the dealers. Not Honda's dealers, though, but BRC Turkey's. So yes, it's BRC whom Honda has partnered with to offer factory-fitted autogas systems.
Moving the operations to the assembly plant offers the advantage of improving quality and repetitiveness of the conversion process. A new LPG-only assembly line has been added to the plant to enable 60 conversions per day and as many as 12 thousand per year. The line, constructed at a cost of 1 million lira, was launched on September 15, 2015, in the presence of Hideto Yamasaki, president of Honda Turkey and Mariano Costamagna, CEO of BRC Gas Equipment.
We are glad to support these investments and we thank 2A Engineering Company for the support they always give us as official BRC Turkey Distributor.
Mariano Costamagna
