SuperValu has 20 distribution centers in the U.S., with over 400 vehicles in their fleet. The company’s aim is to use gas supply in about 65% of all their vehicles by 2015.
Volvo Trucks currently offers natural gas-powered versions of its VNL and VNM trucks. They are built in the company’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, VA. It’s the facility that manufactures all Volvo trucks sold in North America. Volvo VNL model features a Cummins-Westport ISX12 G engine with engine displacement of 11.9 l. The other gas-powered model (VNM) features a Cummins Westport ISL G engine with a capacity of 8.9 liters.
