Rally Italy takes place in the island of Sardinia and is the first round of the Italian Rally Championship's annual calendar to be held on gravel rather than tarmac roads. Considering the BRC team's Giandomenico Basso's (with co-driver Lorenzo Granai) previous results – Rally Il Ciocco victory and 2nd place in the Targa Florio – outstanding performance could be expected again. And since the rally is also a round of the WRC cycle, it should serve as a good opportunity to compare results with the top-spec WRC cars. Driving on Sardinia's gravel roads will also be Robert Kubica, this year behind the wheel of a WRC car.
BRC's autogas-powered car rallying programme started in early 2014 and will continue throughout the next three years.
