Volkswagen Caddy TGI at a discount

Volkswagen has launched an environment protection initiative in Germany which aims at renewing the car fleet considerably. One of the key points of the programme is encouraging purchase of cleaner, greener vehicles.

One of the models offered in the scheme is the CNG-powered Volkswagen Caddy TGI BlueMotion, featuring a 1,4-litre engine running on compressed methane. Buyers who decide to purchase a Caddy BlueMotion and at the same time scrap an old diesel (complying with Euro 1 to Euro 4 emissions standard), not necessarily a Volkswagen, will benefit from a discount of 5000 euros.

There are some conditions to be met. First of all, the purchase must take place before December 31, 2017. Secondly, the buyer must present the dealer a confirmation of scrappage of an applicable diesel-powered vehicle. Also, the CNG-fueled Caddy must be registered as a passenger car to qualify for the discount. The Caddy is manufactured by Volkswagen of Poland at the Antoninek plant near Poznań and the CNG variant is built at the company's nearby coachbuilding facility in Swarzędz.
