New LNG-powered Peterbilts have landed

During the Mid-America Trucking Show Peterbilt Motors Company announced broadening of the natural gas-powered vehicles range. Models 579 and 567, featuring tanks storing methane in liquefied form (LNG), will join the line-up soon.

Peterbilt is the market leader in the sector of gaseous-fuel-powered trucks in the US. The company has biggest experience in the field, broadest line-up, most versatile products and offers gaseous fuel options for truck of nearly all classes, categories and uses.

Peterbilt's 579 and 567 LNG-powered models will be offered with daytime-only cabins. Production is set to commence in June, 2015. The vehicles will be equipped with Cummins Westport ISX12 G engines, generating up to 400 PS of power and 1970 Nm of torque.

Last year production began on compressed natural gas configurations of the Models 579 and 567, meeting a healthy market need for customers seeking cost effective, cleaner burning natural gas energy. We’re again expanding our natural gas product offerings with liquefied natural gas configurations of these same models, giving customers greater choice and flexibility for their business and operation requirements.
