Freightliner Cascadia Dual Fuel
Five of these cars will be operated by Foodliner. These will be Freightliner Cascadia truck-tractors with their engines (Detroit Diesel Series 60) equipped with Dual Flex+ gas systems manufactured by D2G. These systems can replace up to 60% of diesel oil with the significantly cheaper natural gas. Those engines will obviously be able to work like typical diesel engines, running entirely on diesel oil. The vehicles will have CNG storage tanks manufactured by Agility Fuel Systems.
The aerodynamic cab of Freightliner Cascadia and the vehicle’s reduced fuel consumption of Detroit Diesel 60 engine should result in the greatest economy among trucks with engines of 500 hp used on the American roads.
The vehicles will be equipped with cruise control integrated with the gas supply system. It’s what distinguishes D2G’s system from others offered in the U.S. market.
